Ramekins :- the diet continues to gather momentum with hints ,tips and support flooding in to me. It's good to know there are more people out there that care about my future well being than I ever thought. A big thankyou to all those who have written, commented on here or are just supporting me in thought.
After much amusement at my sisters dining room table last night (Uncle Charlie eating the smallest amount of food ever to be set at my sisters table for me or anyone else for that matter) I have stolen her recipe today for Cheesey leek and potato pie and been forced to purchase another new item to my world, Ramekin dishes. Never really understood before who could need such a dish to eat such a sized portion,no less the size of portion would be my whole consumption at one sitting..lol Scarily (and if anyone has sat down with me in a restaurant for a curry before will knowthis to be true)that is the size of portion I am currently consuming and feeling full with at each mealtime.
A tiny pain at the top of my stomach triggers me to stop eating which is something I am growing more and more used to daily.
So one cooking session that is deemed to serve 4 adults fitted easily into eight ramekin dishes ,seven of which have since slipped into my freezer for future consumption, the other heartily consumed..Yum!.
Also ditched the sugar filled yoghurts that proclaim they are low fat yet fail to mention the half a bag of sugar hidden within(mentioning no names, but you know who you are!!)"Got my arms ,got my legs, got half a ton of sugar"...is that not how the advertisment should go..lol)
Took my daughter Ellie to Pony club today and although at 11 she doesnt really appreciate my predicament fully made me realise the cr*p ,despite believing to the contrary, that we used to eat at mealtimes....especially the afters. I saw what she was eating and just thought " she doesnt really need that and neither did I before" .It was all just habit of eating. The re-education to my brain and train of thoughts continues.....and also to hers if I can swing it.
Dad update...
A male nurse from the Mountbatten Trust came out to discuss my fathers status in life. Unfortunately the most informational person so far was not a bearer of good news. Despite my fathers "good shape " considering his age and condition could change dramatically from one day to the next. Also he confirmed the worst that the "up to a year" we had been previously informed ,was more likely to be less than six months of life expectancy.
Some good news today obtained by my sister was that the nursing home where my mother has been residing whilst my father has been having his tests in hospital have accepted my father despite his illnesses and shorterm life expectancy. This will allow them to spend as much time together as is humanly possible during my fathers final days.
