It's been 5 days now since my operation. Thursday 17th August 2006 at St Richards hospital in Chichester ,W.Sussex. A fantastic place with all staff who actually appear at all times to want to help you ,day and night. Thanks to Mr Somers who carried out the operation..a very good job he appears to have done too.
Gastric band is well and truly fitted and umbilical hernia sorted after 7 years ...phew ! what a relief. Starting weight 164kg (approx 26st).
Started with fluids diet of runny porridge, soup, yoghurt and fruit juice so far.
It is a really strange sensation of feeling full after one cup of soup. Even if I craved other foods and wanted to cheat the physical impossibility stops me from straying.
Blood sugar levels with my diabetes seem to be steadying too (10.5 up to 11 back down to 8.5 and now 9.5 today so far since I finally bought one of those infernal "finger prick" machines).
Not too sure where this blog will go but just gonna record comments on the slow road to my ideal weight and back to where I want to be with my physical presence.

Wheyhey! Get on with it Chaz! I have added your Blog to my Blog list. Bugger me! You full after a cup of soup... That used to take 3 coronation chicken rolls, 5 somosas and a curry on the side, washed down with 9 pints of lager hahahahaha. Good luck mate!
